The Alabama State Legislature honors Reverend Flora Alexander for her significant contributions to faith, education, and community service. A native of Anniston, Alabama, Reverend Alexander has shown exceptional dedication to the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, serving in various leadership roles, including as the first female pastor at Mt. Zion Church and currently at Murray Temple C.M.E. Church. Her journey in ministry began in 1999, culminating in her ordination as an elder in 2014. Alongside her pastoral work, she has pursued extensive education, earning degrees in psychology, sociology, and community counseling, as well as graduating cum laude from the Academy of Public Theology.
Reverend Alexander's commitment to her community is evident through her roles as a caseworker and therapist, where she has provided vital support to individuals and families. Her leadership in social services has left a lasting impact, and she has been recognized for her achievements, including being featured in "Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities."
