This bill amends Section 45-51-84 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to adjust the compensation structure for the Montgomery County Judge of Probate. The current annual salary of $88,000, established in 1996, will continue to be paid from the Montgomery County Commission's general fund, with provisions for annual increases based on the percentage raises given to full-time county employees, capped at $3,000 per fiscal year.

The new legal language introduces a provision that any individual who has served at least six full years as the Montgomery County Judge of Probate will receive a salary equivalent to that of a circuit judge with the same years of service. This new compensation structure will replace any other compensation previously provided by law to the Montgomery County Judge of Probate. The act is set to take effect on June 1, 2025.
