This bill amends several sections of Act 2024-320, which pertains to the Lawrence County Community Corrections and Court Services Fund. Key changes include the revision of the reporting year for surplus funds to be paid to the General Fund of Lawrence County, now requiring a three-fourths majority vote from the full commission present at a meeting to approve the transfer of any unallocated surplus. Additionally, the bill modifies the timeline for remitting a percentage of appearance bonds to the fund, changing the remittance period from 10 days to 30 days after the deposit. It also clarifies that all collected amounts under this section will be directed to the fund unless specified otherwise by general law.

Furthermore, the bill allows municipalities in Lawrence County to opt into the programs authorized by this subpart through a resolution, which must be sent to the Lawrence County Community Corrections and Court Services Commission. The effective date for a municipality's participation will be the first day of the fiscal quarter following the resolution's delivery. Lastly, the bill repeals Act 1979-736, which established a rehabilitation board and work release program. The act is set to take effect on October 1, 2025.
