Under existing law, food trucks and similar mobile food vendors must obtain business licenses and be inspected by local health officials and fire officials in all counties and municipalities in which the mobile food vendors temporarily operate. This bill would require mobile food vendors to meet all of the requirements for operating a mobile food vendor in the jurisdiction where the vendor has established its permanent commissary, that is, its permanent location where the vendor parks when not in service. This bill would otherwise exempt a mobile food vendor from obtaining individual licenses or other requisite permissions from local jurisdictions when the mobile food vendor travels outside the jurisdiction of its permanent commissary.
