The Alabama Senate proudly recognizes the remarkable achievements of the Pisgah Girls Basketball Team, which recently won the AHSAA Class 2A State Championship. This victory is a testament to the team's exceptional skill, hard work, and dedication, as well as the leadership of Head Coach Carey Ellison, who has guided 15 different teams to state championship games over his 29-year coaching career. The championship game saw Pisgah build a significant lead and ultimately defeat the top-ranked Decatur Heritage with a final score of 84-72, marking the team's eleventh championship win and the ninth under Coach Ellison.
This accomplishment not only highlights the continued excellence of the Pisgah girls basketball program but also brings pride to Pisgah High School, the City of Pisgah, and the entire State of Alabama. In recognition of their outstanding victory, the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Alabama commends and congratulates the Pisgah Girls Basketball Team for their significant achievement in the state championship.
