The resolution celebrates the establishment of the Pink Hard Hat Girls and Women in CTE, Construction, and Manufacturing Programs in Jackson County, which aim to empower high school girls and women to pursue careers in the construction and manufacturing industries. Recognizing March 2-8 as Women in Construction Week, the resolution highlights the importance of honoring women who have faced challenges in these fields and promoting diversity and inclusion. The programs focus on educating young women about career opportunities, providing networking and employment information, and ultimately creating a pipeline of skilled female workers in an industry where women currently represent only 11 percent of the workforce.

Participation in these programs is open to high school students in grades 10-12, as well as women already working in related careers and their advisers. The initiative includes six meetings throughout the school year, where students will visit local industries and hear from female professionals in CTE, Construction, and Manufacturing. The resolution encourages young girls and women to pursue careers in these fields, regardless of gender, and aims to create a lasting legacy for future generations of women in construction and manufacturing.
