This bill proposes to provide an annual supplemental compensation of $24,000 to the chief assistant district attorney and three assistant district attorneys of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Lauderdale County. This supplemental compensation will be in addition to any other compensation they currently receive and will be paid in equal monthly installments from the county's general fund. Notably, this new compensation will supersede any salary supplements that may have been established by local law.

Additionally, the bill states that the chief assistant district attorney and the assistant district attorneys will serve at the discretion of the district attorney and will not be subject to any residency requirements. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
