This bill would establish the crime of failure to render aid, which would be committed if, while engaged in the illegal use of a controlled substance with another: (i) a person knowingly fails to seek medical assistance for another individual suffering from an overdose of the controlled substance or suffering a significant adverse physical reaction to the controlled substance; and (ii) the overdose or adverse physical reaction proximately causes the death of the other individual.
