The resolution honors the life and legacy of Cheryl Varnadoe Ramsey, who was deeply committed to education, mentorship, and community service. Born on August 21, 1968, Cheryl demonstrated a passion for learning and leadership from a young age, excelling in music and academics at A.H. Parker High School. She furthered her education at Jacksonville State University, earning degrees in Human Resource Management and Marketing, and later pursued a Master's Degree in School Counseling. Cheryl dedicated over two decades to shaping the futures of students as a Guidance Counselor, particularly at her alma mater, while also being actively involved in her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and the Parker High School United Alumni Association.
Cheryl's personal life was marked by her marriage to Demetrius Ramsey and her role as a loving sister and aunt. Known affectionately as "Auntie" to many student-athletes, she devoted her time and resources to support their aspirations both on and off the field. The resolution expresses deep gratitude for her contributions to her community and recognizes her enduring impact on the lives of those she touched. A copy of the resolution will be presented to her family as a token of sympathy and appreciation for her life's work.
