Following his military service, he pursued a calling in ministry, preaching at various churches and making significant contributions to the veteran community, including preaching at the Bill Nichols State Veterans Home.

In addition to his military and ministerial achievements, Mr. Cullins played a vital role in his community by helping establish senior living apartments named in his honor and serving in the Alabama Legislature from 1990 to 1994.
