This bill amends Section 45-2-240 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to increase the supplemental per diem paid to members of the Baldwin County Board of Equalization. The current per diem of $150 is increased to $200, effective for the calendar year 2025 and thereafter, with provisions for retroactive payment for any meetings held in 2025 prior to the act's effective date. Additionally, starting January 1, 2026, the supplemental amount will be adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index for urban consumers, ensuring that the compensation keeps pace with inflation.

The bill also revises the language regarding mileage reimbursement for board members, allowing them to receive mileage after their annual allowance is exhausted, at the same rate as state employees. Furthermore, it clarifies that all political subdivisions or funds in Baldwin County receiving ad valorem taxes will contribute to the supplemental payments on a pro rata basis, based on their share of total local ad valorem taxes collected. The act is set to take effect on October 1, 2025.
