The Alabama House of Representatives has passed a resolution to honor Josiah Benson, a talented young performer from Alabama, for his significant achievements in musical theater. Josiah, the son of Dedrick and Felicia Benson, has been involved in the arts since the age of 10 and has received multiple accolades, including Outstanding Student Awards in English and Choir during his time at Helena Middle School. He has consistently excelled academically, maintaining an A-honor roll status while also contributing as a peer helper and choir member.

Josiah's impressive theatrical career includes notable roles such as "Sebastian" in "Little Mermaid Disney Jr." and "Captain" in "Little Madagascar Jr." He has also performed as "Gavroche" in a production with high school students at Shades Valley High School. Most recently, he has been touring nationally in the lead role of "Little Michael Jackson" in "MJ the Musical," where he has performed in over 300 shows to an audience exceeding 1.2 million. The resolution recognizes Josiah's dedication and contributions to the performing arts, as well as his membership in the Actors' Equity Association.
