The bill amends Section 16-30-4 of the Code of Alabama 1975 to allow dependents of active duty military personnel to use military medical records as proof of age-appropriate immunization and testing, instead of the traditional Blue Card, when enrolling in public or private schools. The new language specifies that these military medical records must reflect the necessary immunizations and testing required for school admission. Additionally, the bill clarifies that the immunization requirements apply only to students in kindergarten through 12th grade, excluding institutions of higher learning.

The bill introduces several insertions, including the definition of the Blue Card and the provision allowing military dependents to present military medical records. It also includes a deletion of language that may have previously outlined different requirements for immunization certification. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
