The Alabama Squat Truck Law aims to regulate the height of the fenders on motor vehicles by prohibiting any alterations that raise the front fender more than four inches above the rear fender. This law applies to passenger cars and trucks as defined in the Code of Alabama 1975. The height measurement is specified as a vertical distance from the ground through the centerline of the wheel to the bottom of the fender. However, the law includes an exception for modifications made for bona fide commercial or agricultural purposes.

Violations of this law will incur fines that escalate with repeated offenses: a maximum of $50 for the first violation, $100 for the second, and $250 for the third or subsequent violations. The law stipulates that only offenses occurring within the last five years will be considered when determining prior convictions. The act is set to take effect on October 1, 2025.
