Coach Charles "Chucky" Miller of Talladega has been honored with induction into the Alabama High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame, a testament to his significant contributions to high school athletics in Alabama. Born on August 11, 1956, Miller has amassed over 700 wins as a basketball coach at Walter Wellborn and Talladega High Schools, sharing the unique distinction with his father, Chuck Miller, as the only father-son duo in AHSAA state basketball history to achieve such a milestone. A graduate of Talladega High School and Auburn University, with a master's degree from Jacksonville State University, Miller began his coaching career in 1979 and has since left a lasting impact on the schools and students he served.

Throughout his four-decade career, Miller has not only excelled as a coach, leading his teams to numerous victories and earning prestigious awards such as the ASWA Class 5A Coach of the Year in 2017 and Class 4A Coach of the Year in 2019, but he has also contributed significantly as an athletic director, assistant principal, and interim principal. His deep understanding of the transformative power of athletics and his ability to positively influence the lives of student-athletes have made him a respected figure in the athletic community. The Alabama House of Representatives has resolved to honor and commend Coach Miller for his well-deserved selection to the Hall of Fame, offering him congratulations and best wishes for his future endeavors.
