Clayton Keith Davis, a respected member of the Ozark, Alabama community, passed away on October 14, 2023, at the age of 68. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, to Delores Thrasher Davis and Billy Keith Davis, Clayton was recognized for his intelligence from an early age and was a talented pianist and organist, winning piano competitions and serving as a church organist in his youth. He excelled academically, graduating magna cum laude from The University of Alabama with degrees in Mathematics, Piano, and German, and later from the university's School of Law.
Throughout his career, Clayton Davis was dedicated to serving older Americans. He practiced law from 1979, focusing on areas such as Social Security Disability, Estate and Medicaid Planning, and Wills/Probate. He worked with Area Agencies on Aging, provided legal assistance under the Older Americans Act, and was involved in Medicare counseling and fraud prevention. Clayton's efforts helped many older residents of Alabama maintain their independence. He is remembered for his commitment to those in need and is survived by his father, siblings, niece, and husband, Michael Lee Allums. The Alabama House of Representatives has expressed deep sadness over his passing and extends heartfelt sympathy to his family, honoring his life and service with this resolution.
