The resolution honors the Gold Medal winners from the DeKalb County Technology Center who excelled at the Annual SkillsUSA Conference held in Mobile, Alabama, from April 22-24, 2024. These students, recognized as emerging community leaders, competed against numerous peers statewide and will represent Alabama at the National SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 24-28, 2024. The gold medalists include Crimson Ward in masonry, Jacob Atchley in collision repair technology, Anna Massey in medical math, Samineyen Blount in basic health care skills, and John David Vargas in welding.

The resolution highlights the innovative and rigorous nature of the programs these students participated in, noting that many are academically high achievers, have earned industry credentials, and are engaged in dual enrollment courses. The House of Representatives of Alabama commends these students for their accomplishments and extends best wishes for their future success.
