The resolution honors and commends the gold medal winners from the Dekalb County Technology Center who excelled at the Annual SkillsUSA Conference held in Mobile, Alabama, from April 22-24, 2024. These students distinguished themselves as emerging community leaders and are set to represent Alabama at the National SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia, from June 24-28, 2024. The gold medalists named in the resolution are Crimson Ward for masonry, Jacob Atchley for collision repair technology, Anna Massey for medical math, Samineyen Blount for basic health care skills, and John David Vargas for welding.

The resolution acknowledges the rigorous and relevant programs and competitions these students participate in, noting that many of them are academically at the top of their class and have earned industry credentials and are taking dual enrollment courses.
