The resolution recognizes Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African Americans, founded on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University. It highlights the fraternity's enduring commitment to brotherhood, scholarship, and community service over its 117-year history, noting that it has produced over 200,000 members and currently has more than 80,000 living, college-educated members across various chapters worldwide. The fraternity's significant contributions to society include over 850,000 hours of community service, $2.3 million in scholarships, and efforts to encourage voter registration.

In honor of these achievements, the resolution commends Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and its Alabama District Chapters for their impactful work and designates April 30, 2024, as Alpha Phi Alpha Day at the Alabama State Capitol. The resolution also instructs the Secretary of the House to prepare copies for distribution to the fraternity's Alabama District Director and the Chairperson of its Political Action Committee.
