Mentile was born on December 26, 1954, and after graduating from Eufaula High School, she earned a Bachelor's degree from Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. She dedicated 19 years to teaching children in the Eufaula City School System before retiring in 2017. A devout Christian, Mentile was a faithful member of The Rocky Mount Baptist Church and continued to praise the Lord even in poor health. She is predeceased by her mother, Lillie Ann Forte, and brother, Harry Forte, and survived by her father, Berry Forte, brother, Larry Forte, and a host of relatives and friends. The Alabama House of Representatives records her death with profound sadness and extends heartfelt sympathy to her family, acknowledging the shared grief of many.
