The resolution commends Mrs. Lindsey Greer, a 6th grade math teacher at Phenix City Intermediate School (PCIS), for being recognized as an Extraordinary Educator, Class of 2024, by Curriculum Associates. With 12 years of teaching experience, all in the 5th and 6th grades, Mrs. Greer currently serves as the department chair for 6th grade math and co-chair of the school's math team. She has also been actively involved in various school programs, including Relay for Life and the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Program. Mrs. Greer holds both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Troy University and has been acknowledged for her innovative use of technology in education, receiving the Chiquita Marbury Award for the State of Alabama.
In addition to her professional achievements, Mrs. Greer is dedicated to her family and community, spending quality time with her two daughters and engaging with youth at her church. She is committed to continuous professional development, being NISE Stem certified and an AMSTI trainer, and plans to present at the upcoming Alabama Council for Teachers of Mathematics Conference. The resolution recognizes her exceptional contributions to education and the significant impact she has made on her students at PCIS.
