The resolution honors Mrs. Lindsey Greer, a 6th grade math teacher at Phenix City Intermediate School (PCIS), for being named an Extraordinary Educator, Class of 2024, by Curriculum Associates. With 12 years of teaching experience, all in the 5th and 6th grades, Mrs. Greer currently serves as the department chair for 6th grade math and co-chair of the school's math team. She has also been recognized for her innovative use of technology in the classroom, receiving the Chiquita Marbury Award for the State of Alabama. Mrs. Greer holds both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Troy University and has been with Phenix City Schools for the past five years.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mrs. Greer is actively involved in her school community, serving as chairperson for Relay for Life and the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Program. She is dedicated to professional development, being NISE Stem certified and an AMSTI trainer, and plans to present at the Alabama Council for Teachers of Mathematics Conference. Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Greer enjoys spending time with her two daughters and engaging with youth at her church. The resolution commends her exceptional contributions to education and recognizes the profound impact she has had on her students.
