Additionally, the bill outlines the process for the Central Alabama Homebuilding Academy to submit an annual operating budget for approval by the Jefferson County Commission, ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of the funds. The bill also mandates an annual audit of the academy's operations and financial statements, which must be reported to the county commission and participating municipalities. Upon the termination of the academy's operations, any remaining funds will be redirected to the Alabama Construction Trade Academy Fund in the State Treasury. The act is set to take effect on June 1, 2024.
