The bill provides for an additional expense allowance and salary increase for the Sheriff of Wilcox County, Alabama. Starting October 1, 2024, the sheriff will receive an additional annual expense allowance of $30,000, which will be paid in equal monthly installments from the county's general fund. This allowance is in addition to any other compensation or salary the sheriff currently receives.

Furthermore, upon the expiration of the current sheriff's term, the sheriff's annual salary will be increased by an additional $30,000, also payable in monthly installments from the general fund. At that point, the provision for the expense allowance will become void. The act is set to take effect on October 1, 2024.
