This resolution honors Hackleburg Police Officer Zach Booth for his heroic actions on February 27, 2024, when he saved the lives of three individuals from a house fire. Officer Booth, while on patrol, noticed a residence on fire and quickly acted to wake the sleeping occupants, a 72-year-old homeowner, his granddaughter, and her friend. He entered the burning home, assisted the homeowner into his wheelchair, and ensured their safe evacuation.

The resolution acknowledges that the outcome of the fire could have been tragic if not for Officer Booth's bravery. It also notes that Officer Booth celebrated his first anniversary with the police force in January, is a high school graduate from Gordo, a resident of Hamilton, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is considering further training with the fire department. The Alabama Legislature offers this resolution in the highest tribute and admiration for Officer Booth's lifesaving actions and outstanding service to the community, along with best wishes for his future endeavors.
