The Murphy High School Hi-Q Team is recognized for winning the Alabama State Championship in the Hi-Q competition, which is the oldest interscholastic quiz bowl in the United States. The Murphy team showed exceptional determination and skill, narrowly defeating Alma Bryant High School and placing Baker High School in third during the state championship held on March 12, 2024.
