Under existing law, two or more municipalities are authorized to incorporate gas districts for the transmission and distribution of natural gas. The gas districts are governed by a board of directors. The board of directors is composed of not less than three members and the members elect a chair. The members, at the discretion of the board, are authorized to be paid a director's fee of one thousand dollars ($1,000) per meeting attended, not to exceed one meeting per month, and the chair is authorized to be paid a director's fee not to exceed one thousand two hundred fifty dollars ($1,250) per meeting. This bill would increase the fee authorized to be paid to a director to one thousand seven hundred fifty dollars ($1,750) per meeting and the fee authorized to be paid to the chair to two thousand dollars ($2,000) per meeting.
