Mrs. Mollie MacLeroy Bearden has been recognized by the Willie and Betty Farrior Family Foundation for her exceptional contributions to the Talladega community and the State of Alabama. The foundation, established in memory of Colonel Cedrick A. Farrior's grandparents, honors individuals who have made significant impacts in the community. Both Willie and Betty Farrior, despite losing their vision early in life, made substantial contributions to society, with Willie being the first Black employee at the Alabama Industries for the Blind and Betty dedicating 27 years of service.

Mrs. Bearden, a native of the area and a mother and grandmother, founded the Cheaha Family Support Council in 1994 to assist individuals and families with developmental disabilities in several Alabama counties. In addition to her work with Cheaha, she volunteers with various organizations, including United Way and the Build a Bridge Food Pantry. She also serves on the board of the Alabama Deaf Blind Multiple Association and co-chairs a group distributing emergency funds in North Talladega County. The Alabama House of Representatives has resolved to extend its highest commendations and congratulations to Mrs. Bearden for her dedication and service, wishing her the best in all future endeavors.
