Walker "Percy" Badham III of Mountain Brook, Alabama, passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 66, leaving behind a legacy of professional excellence and community involvement. Born on June 9, 1957, Percy Badham graduated magna cum laude from Davidson College and summa cum laude from The University of Alabama School of Law. He began his law career at the Cabaniss, Johnston Law Firm, later joining Maynard, Cooper, & Gale, and eventually co-founding Badham & Buck, LLC. Throughout his career, he was recognized as a leader in the legal profession, holding positions such as President of the Alabama Young Lawyers and Director of the Trial Academy for the American Bar Association's Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section. He received numerous accolades, including the J. Anthony "Tony" McLain Professionalism Award from the Alabama State Bar.
Percy Badham was also deeply involved in his community and church, serving as a youth group counselor at Canterbury United Methodist Church and participating in various clubs and organizations. He was known for his compassion and kindness, both personally and professionally. Percy cherished his family, crediting his wife Patti for her unwavering support and taking great pride in his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. The Alabama House of Representatives has resolved to honor his memory and extend sympathy to his family, acknowledging the profound impact of his life and service.
