The bill provides for an increase in compensation for the Coroner of Talladega County, Alabama. It introduces an additional expense allowance of $8,000 per year, which will be paid in equal monthly installments from the county's general fund, effective from the first month after the bill's enactment. Furthermore, beginning with the expiration of the current Coroner's term, the annual salary for the position will be set at $20,000, also payable in monthly installments. This new salary will replace any other compensation, salary, or expense allowance previously provided to the coroner.

Additionally, the bill repeals Act 2001-491 and any relevant provisions of Act 2097 of the 1971 Regular Session that previously governed the coroner's compensation. The changes outlined in the bill will take effect on June 1, 2024, following the expiration of the current term of the Coroner of Talladega County.
