Captain Marion "J.R." Bulluck is being honored and congratulated upon his retirement as the Support Services Division Commander of the Madison County Sheriff's Office. His law enforcement career began in 1980 after graduating from the Huntsville Police Academy, and he has since served with distinction, earning multiple promotions and commendations. Captain Bulluck's leadership contributed to the Madison County Sheriff's Office receiving accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, a prestigious recognition achieved by only five percent of law enforcement agencies nationwide.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Captain Bulluck has been actively involved in various professional and civic organizations, including the Madison County Commission's Drug and Alcohol Board, the International Associations of Chiefs of Police, and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. He has also dedicated time to philanthropic efforts such as the Wounded Warrior Project and the Special Olympics. Recognized for his service and as a trailblazer, Captain Bulluck was the first African American to become Captain over the Uniform Patrol Division in 2014. The Alabama Legislature offers this resolution as a testament to his valued service and impact on the community, extending best wishes for his health and prosperity in retirement.
