The resolution proudly congratulates the Central High School Varsity Football Team for their remarkable achievement in winning the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 7A State Championship Title on December 6, 2023. The team, known as the Red Devils, secured a thrilling victory against the Thompson High School Warriors with a score of 21-19, marking their third state championship win in the last 30 years. Throughout the 2023-2024 season, the Red Devils demonstrated exceptional performance, finishing with an undefeated record of 13-0, and ranking #25 in the USA Today High School Sports Super 25, while also holding the top position in the MaxPreps Alabama Division 7A rankings.
