This bill, titled "Alternative Virtual or Electronic Methods for Posting Public Notices," allows counties and municipalities in Alabama to use virtual or electronic methods to post certain public notices required by law. Currently, these notices must be physically posted at a county courthouse or other county or municipal building or office. The bill allows for two alternative methods of posting: on an official website maintained by the county or municipality, as long as the website is always accessible to the public, and on an electronic display within the county courthouse, city hall, or other building containing county or municipal offices. The bill specifies that compliance with any other physical notice or publication requirement is still necessary. The bill will become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
