5 MOURNING THE DEATH OF MR. TERRY JACKSON BUNN, SR.

7 WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the
8 death on March 12, 2021, of Mr. Terry Jackson Bunn, Sr. of
9 Houston, Texas, at the age of 68; and
10 WHEREAS, his passing leaves a void in the lives of
11 his loving family, many friends, and the entire community,
12 where he was highly regarded; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Bunn was born on March 10, 1953, in
14 Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to S.T. Bunn, Sr. and Irene Hocutt Bunn;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, Mr. Bunn graduated from Holt High School in
17 1971 and from Livingston University in 1976; he served as Vice
18 President of S.T. Bunn Construction Co., Inc. and as President
19 of Bunn Brothers Materials, Inc.; he was also a member and
20 former Chairman of the Livingston University Board of
21 Trustees, a member and former President of Alabama Asphalt
22 Association, past President of Alabama Road Builders, a former
23 member of Samford University Board of Trustees, a former
24 member of the Board for Alabama Trust Fund, a member of The

1 University of Alabama President's Cabinet, and a member and
2 former Deacon of First Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa; and
3 WHEREAS, Mr. Bunn was lovingly known as an extremely
4 humble and dependable man who had a quick wit that was
5 infectious to those around him; also, he was an avid hunter,
6 fisherman, and Alabama Crimson Tide supporter; and
7 WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his parents;
8 and his father-in-law, John Allen; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Bunn is survived by his loving wife of
10 44 years, Kay Allen Bunn; sons, Terry Jackson Bunn, Jr.
11 (Caitlin) and Kane Allen Bunn (Krissy); granddaughters, Kailey
12 Grace Bunn, Brinley Kate Bunn, and Sarah Kelly Bunn; brother,
13 S.T. Bunn, Jr. (Kay); sister, Shelia Poe (Gene);
14 mother-in-law, Sara Allen; brothers-in-law, Gil Allen (Elaine)
15 and Mike Allen (Ellen); a host of nieces and nephews; and
16 beloved family dog, Pete; and
17 WHEREAS, although his presence will be greatly
18 missed, the memory of Mr. Bunn will be cherished in the hearts
19 of all who knew and loved him; now therefore,
20 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
21 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the death of Mr. Terry Jackson
22 Bunn, Sr. is recorded with deep sadness, and this resolution
23 is offered in tribute to his life, along with heartfelt
24 sympathy to his family, whose grief is shared by many.
