2    ENROLLED, House Joint Resolution,
3              COMMENDING CGI U.S. DELIVERY CENTER IN TROY,
4    ALABAMA, COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE TROY ALABAMA DELIVERY
5    CENTER.

7              WHEREAS, CGI Technologies and Solutions, Inc.,
8    opened the CGI U.S. Delivery Center, commonly referred to as
9    the Troy Alabama Delivery Center, in September 2009, and the
10   center celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020; and
11             WHEREAS, Troy Alabama Delivery Center, is one of the
12   largest independent information technology and business
13   process services firms in the world; and
14             WHEREAS, the Troy Alabama Delivery Center was made
15   possible with the support of the Alabama Governor's office,
16   the Pike County Development Corporation, the City of Troy, and
17   partnerships with Troy University and surrounding community
18   colleges; and
19             WHEREAS, the Troy Alabama Delivery Center now
20   employs more than 285 professionals; and
21             WHEREAS, Troy Alabama Delivery Center, a city of
22   19,100 people located in Pike County, as the site for the Troy
23   Alabama Delivery Center based on the area's quality of life,
24   geographic proximity to a large market for information
25   technology services, strong business incentives from the State

1    of Alabama, collaboration with business-friendly state and
2    local governments, and strong partnerships with academic
3    institutions; and
4              WHEREAS, the location of the Troy Alabama Delivery
5    Center allows many local graduates to remain in the area to
6    pursue a career in information technology, and has allowed
7    many others to return to Troy and pursue a career in
8    technology; and
9              WHEREAS, the Troy Alabama Delivery Center provides
10   world-class information technology systems development,
11   maintenance, and integration services to state and local
12   governments, as well as telecom, financial services,
13   insurance, retail, and manufacturing firms; and
14             WHEREAS, the Troy Alabama Delivery Center hosts
15   custom-tailored training programs delivered by local
16   educational partners and draws skilled local talent from a
17   feeder system of more than 30 colleges and universities, a
18   strong recruiting network, and regionally sponsored programs;
19   and
20             WHEREAS, the Troy Alabama Delivery Center gives back
21   to the region through its Corporate Social Responsibility
22   program, particularly in the areas of STEM education, serving
23   as trusted advisors for local educators, introducing students
24   to information technology early in their educational

1    development, and providing educational supplies for students
2    in disadvantaged situations; and
3              WHEREAS, the Troy Alabama Delivery Center
4    demonstrates that public-private partnerships, when properly
5    structured, can create and sustain well-paying jobs in rural
6    areas of Alabama; now therefore,
7              BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
8    HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Troy Alabama Delivery
9    Center is hereby commended on the occasion of its 10th
10   anniversary.
11             BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this
12   resolution be prepared for appropriate presentation.
