This bill amends Alaska's education law by introducing a new section that outlines specific restrictions and requirements regarding professional employee organizations in public schools. It mandates that if a school district allows a professional employee organization to use school facilities or communication systems for member recruitment, it must provide equal access to all such organizations upon request. Additionally, if a professional employee organization is permitted to participate in employee orientations or meetings, all organizations must be given an equal opportunity to do so.

Furthermore, the bill prohibits school districts from using the name or acronym of any professional employee organization to designate special days or breaks on the school calendar and prevents granting exclusive access to facilities or communication systems to any single organization. The bill defines a "professional employee organization" as one focused on improving instruction and the professional status of its members. The provisions of this act are set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
