This bill amends existing laws regarding immunizations in the state of Alaska, specifically focusing on the authority of the commissioner of health, requirements for youth participation in athletics, and the University of Alaska's immunization policies. It stipulates that the governing body of a school district can only require immunizations for children attending school if the vaccines have received full approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, associations managing interscholastic activities and the University of Alaska are also restricted to requiring only FDA-approved vaccines for participation and enrollment, respectively.

Furthermore, the bill mandates that healthcare providers must provide parents or legal guardians of children under 18 with information regarding the risks and benefits of vaccines before administration. This includes a statement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or, in cases of public health emergencies, a fact sheet on the vaccine's emergency use authorization from the FDA. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
