The bill establishes June 21 as "Alaska Arts and Culture Day," which will be recognized annually. It amends AS 44.12 by adding a new section, Sec. 44.12.197, that encourages schools, community groups, and various public and private entities to observe this day through celebratory events, projects, and activities aimed at promoting awareness and appreciation of the arts and culture in Alaska.

The Act is set to take effect immediately upon passage, as specified under AS 01.10.070(c). This initiative aims to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of the diverse artistic and cultural heritage of the state among individuals of all ages.
