This bill amends AS 16.05.300 regarding the meeting requirements for the Board of Fisheries and the Board of Game in Alaska. It removes the previous requirement for each board to hold at least one meeting a year and allows them to determine the number of meetings they consider necessary. Additionally, it specifies that the Board of Fisheries must hold at least one meeting or hearing annually in designated general areas, which include Upper Yukon - Kuskokwim - Arctic, Western Alaska (including Kodiak), Southcentral (including the Kenai Peninsula), Prince William Sound (including Yakutat), and Southeast.

The bill also clarifies that the Board of Fisheries will now include the Kenai Peninsula in its Southcentral meeting area. This change aims to ensure that the board addresses the needs and concerns of various regions more effectively. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
