This bill amends AS 16.05.300 regarding the meeting requirements for the Board of Fisheries and the Board of Game in Alaska. It removes the previous requirement for each board to hold "at least one meeting a year" and allows them to determine the number of meetings they consider necessary. Additionally, it specifies that the Board of Fisheries must hold at least one meeting or hearing annually in five designated general areas, which include Upper Yukon - Kuskokwim - Arctic, Western Alaska (including Kodiak), Southcentral (including the Kenai Peninsula), Prince William Sound (including Yakutat), and Southeast.

The bill also clarifies that the Board of Fisheries is required to hold meetings in these specific regions, ensuring broader public engagement and representation in fisheries management. The effective date of the Act is immediate, as stipulated under AS 01.10.070(c).
