The bill proposes to extend the termination dates for three specific boards in Alaska: the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives, the Board of Nursing, and the Board of Parole. The new termination date for the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives and the Board of Nursing is set to June 30, 2031, while the Board of Parole's termination date is extended to June 30, 2029. These changes are reflected in the amendments to AS 08.03.010(c)(8) and (14), as well as AS 44.66.010(a)(2).
Additionally, the bill includes provisions that exempt it from certain restrictions on reestablishing boards or commissions and states that if the Act takes effect after June 30, 2025, it will be retroactive to that date. The Act is designed to take effect immediately upon passage, as indicated in the final section.
