This bill amends the existing law regarding the comprehensive plans of first and second class boroughs in Alaska. Specifically, it updates AS 29.40.030(a) to expand the components that may be included in a comprehensive plan. The amendment introduces a new requirement for a housing development plan and adds recommendations for the implementation of the comprehensive plan, while removing the previous requirement that only included a transportation plan as one of the components.

The comprehensive plan will now consist of policy statements, goals, standards, and maps that guide the physical, social, and economic development of the boroughs.
