Furthermore, the bill introduces new requirements for the Department of Health to conduct unannounced inspections of psychiatric hospitals at least twice a year and to notify the department and the minor's guardian within one business day of any use of seclusion or restraint. It also specifies that the notification must include details about any chemical restraints used, including the type of medication administered. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
