The bill establishes the period between September 15 and October 15 of each year as Hispanic Heritage Month in the state of Alaska. It aims to honor and recognize the contributions of Hispanic Americans to the history and culture of both Alaska and the United States.

To implement this, a new section, AS 44.12.183, is added to current law, allowing schools, community groups, and other public and private entities to observe Hispanic Heritage Month through appropriate activities. This initiative seeks to promote awareness and appreciation of Hispanic heritage within the community.
