FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. SB 243
2024 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
The proposed bill separates the board of directors of the Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) from the board of directors of the
Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA). It provides that the directors of AEA are the Commissioner of
Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, the Commissioner of Revenue, and six public members appointed by
the governor with expertise relevant to the mission of the Alaska Energy Authority.
If this bill passes, the following costs will be incurred:
Travel: $22.5 Average of three board members for 10 meetings per year at $750.00 ($0.750) per trip
