FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. LL0609
2024 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This bill proposes to reduce the five‐year requirement in existing statute for appointment of an Assistant Adjutant General
(ATAG). The existing statute requires the appointee to have at least five years of service in the Alaska National Guard. This
bill removes that requirement, instead making it an optional preference for the Adjutant General to consider when
selecting an Assistant Adjutant General. This would allow for maximum flexibility when selecting an ATAG.
There is no fiscal impact to the department with this change; therefore, the department submitts a zero fiscal note.
