FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. SB 206
2024 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
This legislation develops a stay‐at‐work program to assist with the retention of injured workers in the workplace and speed
up the process of recovery after a workplace injury. The program will enable injured workers to continue working with
modified duties as they recover, instead of undergoing an eligibility evaluation for reemployment benefits. This voluntary
program will require the participation of the employee, employer, and attending physician.
To carry out this program, the Division would add a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor 3, range 19, who would coordinate
and facilitate stay‐at‐work planning beginning on January 2, 2025.
