A BILL
FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act making supplemental appropriations, reappropriations, and other
2 appropriations; amending appropriations; and providing for an effective date."
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
4 * Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION. (a) The sum of $2,285,200 is
5 appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Administration, legal and advocacy
6 services, office of public advocacy for the cost of implementation of chapter 44 SLA 2022 for
7 the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.
8 (b) The sum of $825,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of
9 Administration, legal and advocacy services, office of public advocacy to address case
10 backlogs for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2023 and June 20, 2024.
11 (c) The sum of $833,800 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of
12 Administration, legal and advocacy services, public defender agency for the cost of
13 implementation of chapter 44 SLA 2022 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.
14 (d) The sum of $750,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Department of

1 Administration, legal and advocacy services, public defender agency to address case backlogs
2 for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2023 and June 20, 2024.
3 * Sec. 2. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH. The sum of $6,821,700 is appropriated to the
4 Department of Health, division of public assistance, public assistance field services for
5 Medicaid eligibility redeterminations and public assistance program application processing
6 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, from the following sources:
7 (1) $3,733,000 from federal receipts;
8 (2) $3,088,700 from the unobligated and unexpended balance of the general
9 fund appropriation made in sec. 1, ch. 11, SLA 2022 page 23, line 31, and allocated on page
10 24, line 16.
11 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
