FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. LL 0541
2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
The Alaska Food Freedom Act would exempt the production of "homemade" food items from most state regulations. This
will also exempt the inclusion of marijuana and industrial hemp products, as well as other "high risk" ingredients and
processes.
The Division of Agriculture has jurisdiction over a small part of the actions allowed under the bill that will require some
amount of staff time to respond to the public, and likely significant staff time working with the Department of
Environmental Conservation's food service program; therefore, the fiscal note is indeterminate.
