FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. HB187
2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
The legislation requires state agencies to annually compile a list of publications produced as required by law, regulation, or
directed by the legislature. Agencies shall identify and highlight publications that are outdated, duplicative, excessive, or
could be improved or consolidated with other publications. Agencies also must identify publications that are currently
delivered physically that could be delivered electronically.
These lists must be submitted to the legislature and the governor by October 31.
Additionally, this legislation requires the governor submit a bill each evennumbered year to eliminate or modify
publication requirements for publications that have been identified as outdated, duplicative, excessive, potentially
consolidated, or that could be exclusively delivered electronically.
The Office of Management and Budget will accommodate this additional workload with existing resources and therefore
submits a zero fiscal note.
