FISCAL NOTE ANALYSIS
STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. SB129
2022 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
Statutes require the Alaska Judicial Council to file a statement with the Lieutenant Governor reflecting its evaluation of
each justice or judge standing for retention. The statement is then published in the Official Election Pamphlet and
distributed to voters. SB129 would increase the amount and type of information required to be submitted by the Judicial
Council to the Lieutenant Governor for inclusion in the Official Election Pamphlet.
No fiscal impacts are expected from the bill as currently written, because most of the information required by the bill
already is collected by the Judicial Council during the course of its existing duties. If the information required to be added
changes significantly, the Council would need to re-analyze any fiscal impact.
