FOR AN ACT ENTITLED
1 "An Act establishing the month of September as Hispanic Heritage Month."
2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:
3 * Section 1. AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to read:
4 Sec. 44.12.153. Hispanic Heritage Month. The month of September each
5 year is established as Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic Heritage Month may be
6 observed by schools, community groups, and other public and private agencies and
7 individuals with appropriate activities to honor and recognize the contributions that
8 Hispanic Americans have made in the history of this state and the United States.
