STATE OF ALASKA BILL NO. SB215
2016 LEGISLATIVE SESSION
Analysis
SB215 provides that municipalities may by ordinance require installation of enhanced 911 systems when system operators
upgrade or install multiline telephone systems.
The bill mandates that an operator of a multiline system that does not allow for direct 911 dialing, and is not required by
ordinance to install enhanced 911, posts a prominant notice instructing callers how to reach 911.
The Division of Community and Regional Affairs does not anticipate fiscal impact from this legislation.
